Customs
Personal effects shipments and gifts may not be exempt from duties and taxes.
Personal effects shipments must be cleared by the actual consignee. Goods cannot be cleared by the courier or outside broker unless the consignee pay duties and taxes based on the value stipulated by customs after inspection. The receiver may need to travel to assist with clearance.
Before sending your parcel to Canada, please make sure that none of the items in your parcels contravene the restrictions imposed by customs at destination.

Documents Needed
After you have paid for a shipping service to Canada, you will be redirected
to a page where you can download and print out the relevant shipping labels, i.e
AWB (Courier Air Waybills - barcode) - Proforma or Commercial invoice - Address label.
The above documents are standard for any international shipment.
Please note, if additional documentation is required for the import of any particular item, it is the
customer's responsibility to provide them at destination.
Restrictions
Goods travelling by 'Cargo' are subject to different restrictions to those travelling as carry-on
luggage.
A shipment to Canada is deemed unacceptable if: it is classified as
hazardous material, dangerous goods, prohibited or restricted articles by IATA (International Air
Transport Association), ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) or other relevant organisation.
Many items which appear harmless in everyday use can pose danger on air transport and are consequently
forbidden for transport.
The following page displays a sampling of common prohibited and restricted goods.

Packing Advice
Your parcel must be boxed and well packaged. This will reduce the risk of damage to any item during
transit or any associated automated distribution process.
Please be aware the item is not taken by hand from collection to destination and will visit many sorted
facilities on its journey. For that reason, you need to protect the items to ensure they make it from A
to B safely.
The following packaging guidelines are recommendations to assist you in packaging your shipment:

Shipment Protection
When you book a shipping service to Canada, you will be able to choose an
appropriate level of cover for your shipment. We offer enhanced parcel protection for up to £2000
for a small additional fee.
If you do not purchase enhanced Shipment Protection, your shipment will be only covered to a maximum
value of £50 as per the limited liability set out in our
Terms & Conditions and subject to your
parcel passing minimum packaging requirements.
Please note that the declared value for customs purposes is not related to the declared value selected
for Shipment Protection. We encourage all customers to purchase shipment protection cover for loss or
damage.

If the parcel you need delivering is commercial in nature it is likely to have to be delivered according to strict business deadlines. Similarly, many individuals wishing to make a personal delivery to Edmonton might need to have it handed over in time for a loved one's birthday, or delivered to a spouse to celebrate an important anniversary. It may be, however, that you can afford to be slightly more flexible regarding the time your delivery takes to arrive and, as ever, we're flexible enough to meet all our customers' needs. For such a situation we have our Economy Delivery option.
Edmonton is the capital city of the Canadian province of Alberta and, as such, it is the region's cultural and governmental centre. The city has earned itself the nickname 'The Festival City' as it hosts festivals all year round, drawing visitors to Canada from all over the world. Edmonton is an oil and gas centre for the province of Alberta and these industries have helped to create, a current GDP of some $44 billion. Despite the emphasis on energy production, however, Edmonton has a diverse economy, with the technology sector playing a vital part through the presence of companies such as IBM and General Electric. Such is the city's concentration on hi-tech research and manufacturing that fDi Magazine named it as the North American city with the best economic potential for the future.
The advantages of an economy delivery
As stated previously, we aim to be flexible enough to meet any of our customers' demands and that's why, as well as offering our standard high speed delivery, which will see your parcel delivered within 24 hours, we offer a less expensive service for those who can be more relaxed about the timing of their Edmonton shipping. The fact that you pay less doesn't alter the standard of service in any way. Your shipping will still be handled by the best couriers around and thus treated with all the respect and care that you'd expect. You'll also have access to all the aftercare that comes as standard at RapidParcel.com, such as online tracking of your Edmonton parcel delivery and a dedicated blog to keep you up to date with all the latest developments in the shipping field. The only difference, should you opt for Economy Delivery when booking your package delivery, is that it will reach its destination in a slightly longer 2-3 working days.
Of course, there are times when speed is of the essence and that is when we pull out all the stops and let our name speak for itself. Our world-class carriers are adept at delivering urgent packages when and where they need to be, and offering all the tracking and SMS alerts you will need to know where it is along the way.
However, if you need to arrange an Edmonton package delivery but it is not urgent and you wish to save a few pounds, then access our website and book an Economy Delivery, a service which saves money without cutting corners, and which is available for deliveries all over Canada. So if you've also got a parcel delivery to Vancouver or a package delivery to Toronto to send then visit RapidParcel.com.
