Customs Advice
The importation of certain products into a country is restricted in order to protect the economy and
safety of its citizens. The restrictions may be imposed by Customs or by any other agency which has
regulatory authority.
We provide a shipping service only and Customs at the parcel's destination will determine whether any
charges are payable on your package. All duties, taxes and/or quarantine fees applied are at the
discretion of local customs or governmental organisations and are out of our control.
If the addressee refuses to pay duties/taxes, the parcel may be held, returned (if allowed by Customs)
or destroyed, and additional costs may be incurred. As per Terms and Conditions, those charges will be
billed to the sender.
Please note, no shipping costs are recoverable for parcels held or destroyed, even if shipping
protection cover has been purchased.
Majority of parcels can be delivered door to door, once it has cleared customs at destination. However,
some countries have a door to airport service only. In those countries, the recipients may have to
present themselves to either Customs or the local courier's office to take possession of their
consignment.
We advise you to verify independently, all Customs, Governmental and Quarantine regulations. These rules
can and do frequently change without prior notice or recourse.

Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI)
It is now a requirement that all exporters sending freight outside of the E.U must have an EORI number
if they are VAT registered.
If you have any queries regarding the EORI application process then please visit the
HMRC

Documents Needed

to a page where you can download and print out the relevant shipping labels, i.e

The above documents are standard for any international shipment.
Please note, if additional documentation is required for the import of any particular item, it is the
customer's responsibility to provide them at destination.
Restrictions
Goods travelling by 'Cargo' are subject to different restrictions to those travelling as carry-on
luggage.
A shipment to Belgium is deemed unacceptable if: it is classified as
hazardous material, dangerous goods, prohibited or restricted articles by IATA (International Air
Transport Association), ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) or other relevant organisation.
Many items which appear harmless in everyday use can pose danger on air transport and are consequently
forbidden for transport.
The following page displays a sampling of common prohibited and restricted goods.

Packing Advice
Your parcel must be boxed and well packaged. This will reduce the risk of damage to any item during
transit or any associated automated distribution process.
Please be aware the item is not taken by hand from collection to destination and will visit many sorted
facilities on its journey. For that reason, you need to protect the items to ensure they make it from A
to B safely.
The following packaging guidelines are recommendations to assist you in packaging your shipment:

Shipment Protection
When you book a shipping service to Belgium, you will be able to choose an
appropriate level of cover for your shipment. We offer enhanced parcel protection for up to £2000
for a small additional fee.
If you do not purchase enhanced Shipment Protection, your shipment will be only covered to a maximum
value of £50 as per the limited liability set out in our

parcel passing minimum packaging requirements.
Please note that the declared value for customs purposes is not related to the declared value selected

One thing we've learned during our years in the delivery sector is this - for each individual customer, their package is the most important one we'll be handling that day. If you need to make a delivery to Bruges, no matter what it contains, to you it will be a valuable commodity and that's the way we'll treat it. It may be a birthday gift with sentimental value attached to it that you're shipping to Bruges, or an engineering component that represents a vital part of securing your company a multi-million pound deal. Every parcel delivery to Bruges we ship will be treated with care, respect and professionalism. That's why we feel it's only fair to assure our customers a delivery time they can rely on and, if you organise your shipping to Bruges through the RapidParcel.com courier comparison website, that's exactly what you'll get. The city of Bruges, in the north-west corner of Belgium, is a famed Mecca for tourists thanks to its unique medieval architecture, almost all of which is still intact. Perhaps the most famous landmark in Bruges, however, is the thirteenth century belfry, which contains a 48-bell carillon, one of the heaviest musical instruments in the world. Artists such as Hans Memling and Jan van Eyck lived and worked in Bruges, and this heritage is reflected in the presence of art galleries such as the Groeninge museum and, for those of a slightly less intellectual bent, the Frietmuseum, a museum that chronicles the history of Belgian fries.
When we say guaranteed delivery we mean it
It's commonplace for courier companies to offer guarantees of delivery within twenty four hours, or within a specified number of working days, but we think there are times when your Bruges shipping needs something a little more precise than this. That's why we'll make sure that your Bruges delivery reaches this picturesque city by either 9.00 or 12.00 the next day. It may be that you have an urgent personal deadline to meet, or possibly a Bruges parcel delivery of a business nature, which simply must be on the right desk at the right time. Frankly, we treat every delivery as important - ask us to hand over your package delivery to Bruges by one of these specific times and that's exactly what we'll do. We're able to do this because we work with only the best couriers around; we know we can rely on them to handle your delivery promptly, and the same is true of deliveries across Europe. So, whether it's a Bruges parcel delivery, a package delivery to Charleroi or a parcel delivery to Liege, we'll get it exactly when and where you need it to be.
Our size and experience mean that you won't be paying exorbitant fees for this level of service either, we've negotiated the best rates on the market on your behalf, so visit our website and organise your prompt, professional, value for money shipping to Bruges today.
